The Biotage company has been manufacturing flash chromatography columns since 1994. In their supply, beside the lower-priced columns, also the columns fulfilling the highest quality standards, used for research or pharmaceutical applications, can be found. Also, columns used for normal and reverse-phase separations containing media of a few grams to several kilograms are manufactured. 

SNAP columns

Packed columns with male/female luer lock connectors. The high purity materials, corresponding to the USP Class 6 used during the manufacturing minimize the sample contamination, the continuous lot-control provides the excellent reproducibility. The shape of the column head provides the uniform liquid distribution, the applied maximum pressure is 7 bars (with columns of 340 g the pressure is 5 bars). The average particle diameter of the silica cartridge is 50 µm (40-63 µm), its surface area is 500 m2/g, the pore size is 60 Å, thus, the number of theoretical plates is more than 3000 N/m. The pre-packed columns and the ”samplet” ones, loaded by the user, can be filled directly into the column head and they provide a uniform sample application with no dead volume and they can be changed easily after use. The samples applied onto the support can be poured directly on the top of the columns.

ZIP columns

Packed columns with male/female luer lock connectors. During the manufacturing food grade inert polypropylene and inert polyethylene are used. The fixed laser-welded column head provides the leak proof operation, the maximum pressure is 10 bars (with 80 grams columns the pressure is 8 bars). The average particle diameter of the silica cartridge is 50 µm (40-63 µm), its surface area is 500 m2/g, the pore size is 60 Å, thus, the number of theoretical plates is more than 3000 N/m. For dry sample application the DLV kits are recommended.
